The unit sends UDP broadcast packets through the entire LAN so Caller ID information is available to every computer on the network. Except for the data delivery method, Ethernet Link devices function exactly the same as serial port connected units. Implementation is accomplished by simply parsing the Caller ID string from the UDP broadcast packets. A program to setup and capture Caller ID data delivered via the Ethernet is available, as well as royalty-free, Visual Basic .NET source code. Documentation describing interfacing is available in the Ethernet Link Supplement (pdf) Caller ID Integrated POS
